When God Creates Your Lane

There is a different kind of gratitude that comes when you finally realize you are walking in purpose. Not because everything is perfect. Not because you have every detail figured out. But because you can finally see how the pieces of your life have been coming together all along.
That is where I find myself right now. My heart is filled with gratitude because I am finally in a place where I can say, I am walking in purpose.
For years, I wondered what my purpose was supposed to look like. I believe many of us have asked ourselves that same question. We grow up hearing that we should “find our purpose,” but no one really tells us that sometimes purpose is something we discover along the way.
Sometimes it is hidden inside the experiences we didn't understand. Sometimes it is found in the seasons that stretch us. Sometimes it emerges from the very places where we had to heal. And sometimes, God is preparing you for something while you are simply trying to make it through the season you're in.
When I look back at my own journey, I can see things differently now. The experiences, the disappointments, the leadership lessons, the moments when I questioned myself, and even the seasons when I wasn't sure what was next. All of them taught me something.
They shaped how I see people, how I lead, and how I communicate. They even shaped how I understand healing, growth, identity, and becoming. Eventually, they became part of the message I now get to share through Permission to Heal.
That realization has been both beautiful and a little overwhelming, in the best possible way. Because there is something powerful about realizing that God has created a lane for you. Your lane doesn't have to look like someone else's.
You don't have to compete for it. You don't have to convince people that you belong in it. And you don't have to become someone else to walk confidently in it. You simply have to be willing to embrace who God created you to be.
For me, that means being willing to show up authentically. It means having honest conversations about the things we don't always talk about; such as healing, forgiveness, identity, fear, boundaries, and purpose. It means sharing my story while also creating space for other people to see themselves in theirs. And that is what excites me most about this season.
I don't know exactly what Permission to Heal will become. I don't know every door that will open, every conversation that will happen, or every person who will eventually hold the book in their hands. But I know that I am willing to walk forward. I am willing to trust God with the process. I am willing to keep becoming.
And I am excited to see the lives that may be changed because someone read a chapter, reflected on their own story, gave themselves permission to heal, and realized they don't have to remain where they've been.
Maybe that is part of what purpose looks like. Not having every answer, but being willing to say yes to what God has placed in front of you.
So, if you're reading this and you're still trying to figure out your purpose, I want to remind you of something:
You don't have to have it all figured out today. Your purpose may already be unfolding in ways you don't recognize yet. Keep going...
And when the time comes, don't be afraid to walk boldly into the lane God created for you. I'm learning to do the same. I have a feeling this is only the beginning. 💜
Reflection Question
Where do you sense God creating a lane for you, and what would it look like to boldly step into it?
What is one step you can take toward walking more boldly in your purpose?
“Your purpose may already be unfolding in ways you don't recognize yet."
